The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 requires public transit agencies to provide paratransit service to persons with disabilities who cannot access the public transit system due to their disability. As such, all of our buses are equipped with wheelchair lifts and wheelchair securement areas.
In accordance with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA), Namekagon Transit permits service animals to accompany individuals with disabilities on Namekagon Transit buses/facilities.
Service animals are defined as animals that are individually trained to perform tasks for people with disabilities. (Non-service animals can be taken on Namekagon Transit buses as long as they are secured in a pet carrier and the size of the pet carrier is small enough to fit on your lap).
